PressFor each concert event, we present history on the musical selections and performer biographical information and photographs, as well as a poster and radio spot with "voice of the orchestra" Donald Forrest. We are deeply grateful for all of the work that local radio hosts, journalists, bloggers, businesses and supporters do to help us get the word out on Symphony concerts.
Please contact us if you would like to interview one of our players! Our 2011-12 featured performers will include violinist Terri Baune, master storyteller Donald Forrest, tubist Fred Tempas, pianist Ryan MacEvoy McCullough, and the competition-winning Youth Concert winners!

Upcoming 2011-12 Season OverviewFall Concert - October 7 & 8, 2011 - Experience all the seasons in one vibrant evening as virtuoso violinist Terrie Baune leads Antonio Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, followed by Aram Khachaturian's Ballet Highlights from Spartacus. Holiday Concert - December 2, 2011 - Guest soloists and choir join the Symphony for highlights from the Messiah. Then vocal artist Donald Forrest makes winter magic with a musically accompanied reading of The Snowman. The audience is invited to join our second act in a singalong of carols! Winter Concert - February 3 & 4, 2012 - We open with Fanny Mendelssohn's stirring Overture in C, followed by Howard Hanson's Symphony #6, written for the 125th anniversary of the New York Philharmonic. And Fred Tempas stars in Concerto for Tuba by Ralph Vaughan Williams - the definitive work for this instrument! Youth Concert - March 31 and April 1, 2012 - Every year three winners of the Youth Competition are selected to perform with the Symphony. The tradition of spotlighting young musical talents lends itself to an inspiring program. Plus, Donald Forrest brings to life Paul Dukas' Sorcerer's Apprentice! Final Concert - May 18 & 19, 2012 - Mozart's Symphony No. 40, K. 550 G minor is unquestionably one of his most admired pieces of music... and this work of passion sets the tone for the evening. Then, the Eureka Symphony welcomes our own world-acclaimed artist, Ryan MacEvoy McCullough, playing Sergei Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto #3. Ryan returns home to play one of the most technically challenging concertos in the piano repertoire. New! Music Notes Program We're excited to invite local audiences to participate in our new Music Notes program, starting fall 2011! John Chernoff, who has appeared several times with the Eureka Symphony as a pianist, will give informal talks from 7:00 to 7:30 pm before each performance. Come early and join in the discussion as John demonstrates from the piano the musical structure, historical context, and present-day significance of the music we're playing.
