Fall Concert
Friday & Saturday, October 22 & 23, 8pm
It is a first! The Symphony Season opens with the world premiere of Earthquake Symphony, composed by former Eureka Symphony Concertmaster Halim Beere of New York.
Daniela Mineva, pianist and featured soloist, plays Piano
Concerto No. 2 by Dmitri Shostakovich. Mineva was hailed
by the New York Times as “a vibrant and expressive performer
who will steal the show in every concert!” Then enter the
world of Slavonia and Romanticism as the Symphony plays
Overture on Slavonic Themes by Reinhold Gličre.
Youth Concert
Friday, February 4, 8pm
Saturday, February 5, 2pm
This concert spotlights emerging young virtuoso talents who have won the Youth concert competition for this year. Featuring a colorful and exciting program, this performance highlights all instruments of the orchestra and will inspire our diverse audience.
Donald Forrest is back to narrate a tall tale set to music.
You will also hear the thrilling Carmen Suite by George Bizet,
Fantasia on Welsh Nursery Tunes by Grace Williams and
Themes from Jurassic Park by John Williams.

Spring Concert
Friday & Saturday, April 8 & 9, 8pm
Flutists Jill Petricca and Laura Snodgrass join forces
for an electrifying performance of the delightful and
dramatic Duettino on Hungarian Themes Op. 36 by
Franz Doppler. Then, you’ll hear reflections of Brahms,
Berlioz and Strauss as you listen to Levenzomer,
Fantasy for Orchestra Op. 21 by Johan Wagenaar.
The evening closes with Ludwig van Beethoven’s
6th Symphony, The Pastoral, expressing the love the
composer holds for nature.
Holiday Concert
Saturday, December 4, 8pm
NEW this season! Treat the whole family when the Symphony performs excerpts from Handel’s Messiah with soloists and choir. Audience members will be invited to sing with the Symphony for select Holiday music.
Tickets must be purchased separately for this special concert.
Final Concert
Friday & Saturday May 20 & 21, 8pm
Don’t miss a rare opportunity to hear the pulsing
strings, percussion, and trumpet cadenzas in Deep
Summer Music by Libby Larsen, American composer
of contemporary classical music. Virginia Ryder, saxophone, is joined by Jonathan Kipp, vibraphone, as featured soloists in Escapades by John Williams from the DreamWorks film Catch Me If You Can. Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s 5th
Symphony, one of the most beloved treasures of the concert stage, is performed around the world and will be performed in this season’s final concert. |
