2011-12 Season ~ Next Up!
Winter Concert - February 3 & 4, 2012 - We open with Fanny Mendelssohn's stirring Overture in C, followed by Howard Hanson's Symphony #6, written for the 125th anniversary of the New York Philharmonic. And Fred Tempas stars in Concerto for Tuba by Ralph Vaughan Williams - the definitive work for this instrument!
Youth Concert - March 31 and April 1, 2012 - Every year three winners of the Youth Competition are selected to perform with the Symphony. The tradition of spotlighting young musical talents lends itself to an inspiring program. Plus, Donald Forrest brings to life Paul Dukas' Sorcerer's Apprentice!
Final Concert - May 18 & 19, 2012 - Mozart's Symphony No. 40, K. 550 G minor is unquestionably one of his most admired pieces of music... and this work of passion sets the tone for the evening. Then, the Eureka Symphony welcomes our own world-acclaimed artist, Ryan MacEvoy McCullough, playing Sergei Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto #3. Ryan returns home to play one of the most technically challenging concertos in the piano repertoire.
All concerts begin at 8 pm.
